Shannon Ryan is a mixed media painter from Philadelphia. She received a BFA in drawing and painting at University of the Arts in 2018. She currently lives and works in Philadelphia.

Ruin-like textures are created through various methods of printmaking and painting, as well as hand transferred images of sculpture, where even figures that are youthful bare signs of wear and age. Her process consists of experimenting across disciplines such as printmaking, sculpture and painting while exploring the significance of materiality, hand-made impressions and lived in palettes and textures. Drawing from personal life her work acts as a theatrical reconstruction of memories, diary entries, and love letters.
